Factors
Each of these factors measure the power level (or strength) of each type of energy in the area.
Magical Factor (MF)
This caps the max Spell Level supportable in the area. A typical fantasy setting is MF between 9 and 12.
Physical Factor (PF)
This caps the max Innate Ability Level supportable in the area. A typical fantasy setting is PF between 9 and 12.
Temporal Factor (TF)
This caps the max of a myriad of things. For example, number of attacks are capped at 10^TF in the area. The number of actions similarly capped at 10^TF. The number of years to time travel is capped at 10^TF. A typical fantasy setting is TF between 1 and 3.
Psionic Factor (PsiF)
This caps the max Psionic Power Level supportable in the area. A typical fantasy setting is PsiF between 8 and 14.
Technology Factor (TechF)
This caps the max Technological Level supportable in the area. Technology Factor (TechF) is represented as a number and sometimes a letter. The letters are used to indicate the science type, as follows: B=Biology/Medical, C=Chemistry, E=Engineering, M=Math/Pure Sci, S=Space Science, X=Computer, Y=Cybertech. You could go through and indicate TechF for each science type, for example Earth might be TechF 14-S but only 13-E. A typical fantasy setting is TechF somewhere between 5 and 10.
Difficulty Factor (DF)
Difficulty Factor is one of the more obscure power factors in the collective and based on DM’s can have different qualities to its values. It originated from a campaign where a living dungeon called "The Trap" that would run the PC's against progressively harder monsters and by like DL C (which is 100), the Dungeon starts farming XP from the PC's. A similar example is the Shangri-La campaign where lower DL monsters were using higher DL spell and psi effects as well as having higher AC's and hp. DF begins at a value of 10 and for each DF higher than 10, the monsters use effects that are +1 higher SL. I have two separate DF ratings. One is for AC/hp and the other is for higher SL's. Higher DF also gives more XP. A typical fantasy setting is DF somewhere between 10 and 20.
Complexity Factor (CF)
This caps the max rules looseness supportable in the area. The higher the CF, the more lax the rules become for constraints. More rules are unenforced. Less things are banned. Typically races, classes, etc. are more overpowered. A typical fantasy setting is CF somewhere between 1 and 5.
